Ried's thriller Pandion takes the reader on a fast paced and sometimes terrifying ride. There are lots of surprises in store for the reader as the plot heads off in unexpected ways. The characters are diverse. Our protagonists are always getting out of situations that almost get them killed, but that's also what makes this pulse pounding story fun. – Judge’s Critique, 2022 IBPA Benjamin Franklin Awards

In this well-plotted, enjoyable adventure readers get a gripping mystery…along with a study in true and false friends and the corruptive power of great wealth, all set mostly on the fabled rockbound coast of Maine. – Kirkus Reviews
Ried’s third novel is both a coming-of-age story and a slow-burn mystery set in New York and Maine. Readers will find Atti’s transformation from privileged, entitled boy to responsible and empathetic adult absorbing. Ried deftly weaves together Atti’s inner landscape and the unraveling of the mystery, which boasts puzzles inspired by Greek mythology-based puzzles in an atmosphere of unknown danger. This exemplary book has a unique plot with well-developed characters that feel very real, a wonderful foundation, and creative twists and turns that will appeal to mystery readers. Ried is a very gifted writer who knows how to set scenes and make us care about the characters and the situations they find themselves in. The main characters (including antagonists) are unique and fully fleshed out with compelling, layered motivations and traits. Atti was easy to root for, especially in his relationship with his cousin, and it was particularly interesting how this son of a billionaire feels like an outsider in his own family before Ried does a wonderful job unraveling his life. Pandion is a very good book. – Judge, 30th Annual Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Awards

This story keeps unfolding in highly engaging, surprising ways, and the characters are all multi-dimensional. You're definitely on the side of the main protagonist, in part because he has believable flaws, not in spite of them. And then there are layers of compelling evil, from insidious to overt. – Amazon Reader
